The Presidency’s Directorate of Communications held today, Friday, the 26th in Istanbul a symposium, “Media’s Struggle for Truth in the Gaza War: Violence, Disinformation, Censorship,”, as it will continue until January 27, 2024.
The symposium will evaluate the journalists’ struggle for truth in the Gaza War, access to accurate information, and journalist safety, and discuss the role of international media in these topics.
Director of Communications, Prof. Fahrettin ALTUN made the keynote speech of the symposium, as well as Mr. Faed MUSTAFA, the Ambassador of Palestine to Ankara, also addressed the audience in the presence of significant names in the media field who’s participated as a speakers and moderators to the two-day long symposium.
It is worth mentioning that the topics of the sessions in this symposium will discuss the journalist safety, Pressure and intimidation attempts against journalists in conflict areas, and the role of international media in the Israel-Palestine conflict “Partialism, Manipulation, and Censorship”, in addition to the Illusionist face of digital media ”A Perspective on the Palestinian Cause”.
The symposium also discussed the issue of pressure and intimidation regarding the truth and the global fight against disinformation, in addition to the role of global public opinion, civil society and the power of the media to mobilize the masses.
